The prosecutor filed a motion for the recusal of investigating judge Volodymyr Voronko. The primary argument is the existence of potential links between the judge and lawyer Dmytro Borzikh, who currently represents the interests of SBU General Serhiy Duka. According to the prosecution, these circumstances may indicate a conflict of interest and the presence of indirect influence on the judge.
During the hearing, the prosecutor emphasised that Volodymyr Voronko previously held the position of investigating judge at the Leninsky District Court of Luhansk. It was during this period that Dmytro Borzikh worked at the military prosecutor's office of Luhansk Oblast. The prosecutor believes that the combination of these facts casts doubt on the judge's impartiality in the current case.
It is worth noting that Dmytro Borzikh is himself a subject of a case by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU), which concerns interference with the operation of court registries. In addition, he is linked to former Prosecutor General Ruslan Khravchenko.
