Russian forces carried out another strike on a medical facility in the capital. This time, fire was directed at the sixth floor of the Strazhesko Institute of the National Academy of Medical Sciences, where an operating room is located.

Incident details and condition of the injured

The head of the Ukrainian government, Serhiy Koretskyi, reported on the consequences of the attack. According to him, this is the second attack on this facility in recent times.

«Це вже вдруге. Торік удар припав на четвертий поверх інституту, а тепер — на шостий, де розташована операційна. На щастя, обійшлося без загиблих. Один пацієнт дістав поранення, йому надали усю необхідну допомогу» ("This is the second time. Last year, the strike hit the fourth floor of the institute, and now — the sixth, where the operating room is located. Fortunately, there were no fatalities. One patient was injured and received all necessary assistance"), the Prime Minister emphasised.

Significance of the facility for the country

The government official emphasised that the Strazhesko Institute saves people with heart diseases from all over Ukraine. Patients from various regions visit the institution. It is here that surgeries are performed, post-heart attack rehabilitation is carried out, and lives are saved.

«Дякую лікарям і персоналу, які продовжують працювати і рятувати пацієнтів» ("I thank the doctors and staff who continue to work and save patients"), Serhiy Koretskyi noted.
